Our Press Liaison is Julian Dautremont-Smith. He can be reached at press@aashe.org or by calling (610) 349-5994.

4.  How can my campus or organization join?

Membership covers the entire campus community including access to our member resources for all faculty, staff and students. Similarly, Business and NGO partners who join AASHE receive member benefits for their whole organization. If your campus, business or non-profit is interested in joining, please download the application (pdf) and send it along with payment to our Lexington office.  Learn more about AASHE membership.

5.   Can I join AASHE as an individual?

AASHE does not offer memberships for individuals but we would be happy to assist individuals in advocating for their campus or organization to join.

6.   How do I find out if my campus is an AASHE member?

You can check out our list of members.

7.   What benefits and services does AASHE offer its members?

A list of member benefits and services is posted on our membership page.

8.   How do I log into the member-only resources?

If your campus or organization is an AASHE member you may setup an account by following the instructions on our account creation page.

If you experience a problem creating your account, please notify the webmaster (webmaster@aashe.org).  Include your institutional e-mail address in the message.

9.   Can I change my password?

Our current system automatically generates a password that cannot be modified by users. However, if you would like a password change,  please email info@aashe.org for assistance.

10.   How do campuses get information about their sustainability efforts into the AASHE Bulletin and Digest?

The AASHE Bulletin is compiled each week using more than 20 Google News Alerts related to campus sustainability, articles found on discussion lists, and items submitted by individuals. If you would like to submit a story for consideration, please follow our submission guidelines.

The annual AASHE Digest is compiled from articles that appeared in the weekly AASHE Bulletin during the previous year.  Articles that did not appear in the Bulletin will not be added to the Digest at year’s end.  Therefore, it is important that you submit articles to the Bulletin for consideration while the news is still fresh.

11.   How do campuses get information about their sustainability efforts into AASHE’s Resource Center?

One of the primary ways the Resource Center grows is through user recommendations.  If you know of an example initiative, resource, or strategy that a campus has done that other schools could learn from, please send us all the information you have about it!  You can reach our Resource Center manager at resources@aashe.org.

12.   Is there an AASHE equivalent for K-12?

We are not aware of an exact AASHE equivalent for K-12. However, North American Association for Environmental Education and the Cloud Institute for Sustainability Education may be of interest. In addition, K-12 institutions are welcome to join AASHE.

13.   Can schools outside the US and Canada join AASHE?

Yes! While our focus is the U.S. and Canada, we welcome campuses from other parts of the world to join as well.

14.   Can someone from AASHE speak at our campus?

AASHE does not have the capacity to meet every speaking request that comes into the office. However, we strive to be available to our member campuses and can recommend speakers if our staff is unavailable.  Send inquiries to info@aashe.org.

15.    When is the next AASHE conference?

The next AASHE Conference will be held November 9-11, 2008 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Check out our Save the Date page for more information including how to get involved with helping plan the conference. Also, be sure to check out our calendar to learn about other campus sustainability events.

16.   What are the major campus sustainability conferences each year?

There are a number of excellent conferences on sustainability that take place every year. We suggest checking the AASHE Calendar for events that may be happening in your region. Conferences including the “Greening of the Campus” conferences held at Ball State University, the Smart & Sustainable Campuses conferences, and AASHE's own conferences are all excellent choices.
