Recyclemania began this week, January 27th to be more specific, with a record 400 schools participating!! Whewee! The competition started in 2001 with just 2 schools - Miami University (of Ohio) and Ohio University. Last week, when AASHE received Western Carolina University’s Membership Application, our total reached 500.
Here’s a breakdown of our members:
4 Year and Graduate Institutions - 308
2 Year Institutions and Community Colleges - 91
System Offices - 4
Businesses - 66
NGOs/Government Agencies - 33
K-12 Institutions - 8

Last month (September), AASHE reached 2 membership milestones within 5 days.
1. On September 19th, 2007, AASHE received its 300th campus membership.
2. On September 24th, 2007, AASHE received its 400th membership (this includes campus, business, NGO’s, K-12, and system offices)
