Climate Program Manager Job Opening

AASHE, the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, seeks a Climate Program Manager to lead AASHE's efforts to support signatories of the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC). The ACUPCC is a high-visibility effort led by higher education presidents and chancellors to address global warming by committing to neutralize their campus greenhouse gas emissions, and to accelerate the research and educational efforts to equip society to achieve sustainability.

Duties
The Climate Program Manager will:

  • Develop publications, online resources and other educational materials related to campus carbon inventories, planning, and mitigation
  • Create a series of online and in-person training programs related to ACUPCC implementation
  • Produce regular communications for ACUPCC implementers
  • Provide phone and email consultation to support the ACUPCC
  • Raise money and develop partnerships in support of the ACUPCC and AASHE's climate program
  • Coordinate AASHE's work with our partners, Second Nature and ecoAmerica
  • Perform other duties and tasks as necessary for the development of AASHE's climate program

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required (graduate degree preferred)
  • 5+ years experience in energy management and/or emissions mitigation
  • Demonstrated program management and fundraising skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work with limited supervision
  • Collaborative, team player who will be effective working with a diverse group of partners
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Legally eligible to work in the United Stated (required)

Location
Our central office is based in Lexington, KY, but the Manager may work remotely from a home office.

Hours and Compensation
This is a full-time position. Salary is $40-50,000, depending on experience.
